The U.S. State Department commits $100M to Operation End Starvation.

Today, we are celebrating a historic milestone in our collective mission to end child malnutrition.

We want to express our profound gratitude to Secretary Rubio and the U.S. Department of State for their landmark announcement: a planned $100 million investment in Operation End Starvation. This extraordinary commitment marks a massive leap forward toward a world where no child's life is cut short by starvation.

This achievement is a direct result of the vision and leadership at the State Department, alongside a dedicated, bipartisan coalition of champions in Congress. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have championed the need to scale up proven, lifesaving interventions, and their shared leadership is what brought us to this pivotal day.

The reality remains urgent—severe malnutrition claims a child’s life every 30 seconds, even though highly effective, affordable treatments exist. Today’s announcement represents a powerful validation of a new public-private partnership built to deliver these critical solutions to children at an unprecedented scale.

We are also incredibly thankful for our philanthropic partners, whose vital support has already helped secure $33 million in matching private funding for this inaugural phase of OES.

A very special thank you goes out to Kara Weiss and the CRI Foundation. Your early belief and tireless support were foundational to making this entire breakthrough possible.

While an immense amount of work lies ahead, today gives us a moment to celebrate—and to thank every partner, advocate, and supporter who is helping us turn the end of child starvation into a reality.

With gratitude,

Will Moore

CEO, Operation End Starvation (OES)
