Our Impact

Over the next six years, we plan to:

  • Treat 22.5 million children and 82 million pregnant women with RUTF and MMS, respectively.

  • Save 1.8 million children’s lives.

  • Prevent more than 4.8 million cases of maternal anemia and 1.6 million low birthweight babies.

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Mobilizing $4 billion in multi-year funding—with $1bn coming from the private sector and $3bn coming from public funds.

  • Driving at least a 25% reduction in the total average cost to buy, ship, and administer RUTF.

  • Delivering 3.2 billion packages of RUTF and 14 billion tablets of MMS.

While RUTF and MMS are already among the cheapest ways to save lives, OES will make these solutions even more cost-effective.

maximizing Impact

  • Cost Efficiency: By prioritizing cost-effectiveness and requiring competition and transparency at every stage of production, transportation, and programming, we can dramatically reduce costs across the value chain.

  • Strategic Scaling: Through long-term financing and a multi-year operational horizon, OES will secure more favorable contracts with producers and shippers while building resilient "last-mile" delivery systems.

  • Scaling Innovation: By scaling successful innovations across procurement and programming, OES will significantly lower overall costs and maximize every dollar.

Multi-year agreements provide manufacturers visibility to negotiate lower purchase costs for ingredients and packaging.

Optimizing the use of RUTF per child treated will allow us to reach many more children for the same cost.
